Risk Disclosure
Last updated October 5, 2026
Please read this before you launch, buy, sell, or add liquidity. It describes risks that are real and that have cost people money. It is not a complete list, and nothing here is advice. It forms part of the Terms of Use.
1. You can lose everything you put in
Crypto assets, and newly launched tokens most of all, can lose all of their value, quickly and permanently. Only use money you can afford to lose entirely.
2. New tokens are the riskiest thing on this site
- Anyone can launch a token in a few seconds for a small fee. Most new tokens will go to zero. A name, a logo, a story, or a resemblance to a known project says nothing about value.
- The creator's allocation is not locked. The creator can sell it at any time, including into your buy, and that can crash the price.
- Liquidity is often tiny. A trade of a few hundred XLM can move the price by a large percentage. The quote you see before signing is an estimate. Your slippage limit is the only protection against a worse price, and the trade can still execute at that limit.
- Pool pricing works against you in both directions: the price rises as you buy and falls as you sell, so a quick round trip loses money even if nothing else happens.
3. What “locked liquidity” and “Verified” mean, and what they do not
For tokens launched here, the issuing account is permanently locked and the pool shares it holds can never be withdrawn. That means the supply cannot grow and the launch liquidity cannot be pulled.
It does not mean the price will hold, that the creator will not sell their allocation, that other people cannot add and later withdraw their own liquidity, or that the project is legitimate. “Verified by XLMarket” checks four on-chain facts and nothing else.
4. Existing Stellar assets
For assets we did not launch, the issuer may hold powers that a launched token's issuer does not: it may be able to issue more, freeze your balance through authorisation flags, or take tokens back through clawback. Some of these assets depend on a company that can fail, be hacked, or be ordered to freeze funds. Check the issuer on an explorer before you buy, and read the issuer's own terms.
5. Prices, charts, and numbers can mislead
- Everything we show is computed from the public ledger as read through third-party nodes, and it can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong.
- A chart can be built from a handful of trades. “Market cap” multiplies a thin price by the whole supply and can be a meaningless number for a token almost nobody holds. Holder counts include addresses holding dust.
- Thin markets can be manipulated. A few trades between related wallets can paint any price or volume.
6. Non-custodial means nobody can undo a mistake
- You hold your keys. If you lose them, or someone else obtains them, your funds are gone and nobody can restore them. We never see or hold your keys and could not help even if we wanted to.
- Transactions are final. Sending to the wrong address, choosing the wrong token, or signing something you did not read cannot be reversed by us or by anyone.
- Each token you hold needs a trustline, which locks a small XLM reserve (currently 0.5 XLM) until you remove it.
7. Network, software, and third-party risk
- The Stellar network, the wallet you use, the nodes we read from, and our own software can all have bugs, outages, or changes that lead to failed, delayed, or unexpected results. A transaction can fail after you sign it, and a quote can be stale by the time it executes.
- Our site may be unavailable or show wrong data during an outage or an attack. The chain keeps working without us, and your assets do not depend on our website existing.
- Links to wallets, explorers, Telegram, and the swap partner lead to services we do not control.
8. Legal, tax, and regulatory risk
- Laws about crypto assets differ by country and change often. A token you hold could be deemed a security or be restricted where you live. Trading may be taxable. You are responsible for knowing and following your local rules.
- We may be required to restrict, hide, or stop parts of the Service in some places.
9. Scams and impersonation
- Tokens can copy the name and logo of a famous asset or project. The only identity of a Stellar asset is its code plus its issuer address. Check both.
- Nobody from XLMarket will ever message you first, ask for your secret key or recovery phrase, or ask you to send funds to “verify” anything. Our only domain is xlmarket.io. Bookmark it.
- Watch for links posted in chats that look like ours but differ by a letter.
10. Referrals and incentives
People who refer you earn a share of our fee on your trades. Creators profit from their allocation. Promoters may be paid. Everyone talking up a token may have an incentive you cannot see.
11. This is not advice
Nothing on XLMarket is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice. Lists, scores, labels, and charts are information, not recommendations. We do not know your situation. Make your own decisions, or talk to a licensed professional who can.
